global gears

nothing works in this over-integrating transnational society of ours. or more accurately. nothing works well, worse for most. what is the cost of high standard of living for the few? over-indulgent pharma-care and listless lives marked by waste and excess. why are we so overweight and depressed? this is why the rest of the world is in economic slavery? this is our greatest testament?
i know, of course, that i am glossing over some major social progress of importance, but all those great achievements are in constant jeopardy. not from outside influence, but from within. we are on a collision course with religious warfare, a return to the pages of history, a judgement upon our collective inability to resolve the issues of the past.
empire: for god, crown and land.
just as world war two was inevitable, so too is the holy war.
what makes you think that the jews, christian and the muslims will ever truly embrace one another, when protestants and catholics cannot do the same. the different factions of believers will eventually tear themselves to shreds and take the empire, god and land with them. the truly dispicable thing is that they all believe in the same god, and yet hate each other.
despite all my cynicism and belief that there is a great war on its way, i still have hope. out of the ashes of this conflict will arise the people of earth who are no longer willing to kill for god and country.
